What is the concept of nature in philosophy
The concept of nature in philosophy
The most important
thing that philosophy studies with regard to nature is its meaning and origin,
as philosophy is not satisfied with the simple meaning of nature, which means
that it is a universal universal capacity, as some philosophers such as Aristotle;
They consider nature as the source of all movement, while Plato tends that
nature is independent of itself and its essence, meaning that the nature of
anything is its idea and form, and some of them see it as an ideal idea through
which everything can be described, and that it is sacred and represents the
divine power such as: Thales, and in general, it differs Philosophers on the
concept of nature.
The concept of nature
Nature means in
the simple linguistic sense; All that surrounds man, including animals, plants,
mountains, weather, water, materials, and natural forces that exist
independently of man (meaning that man is not the one who created them). He did
not make it, and this includes all things and materials, and what affects
materials, and includes energy and all kinds of forces, and everything that is
biological or related to humans and their societies and their products, as
science considers that all these things are natural and can be studied.
Philosophers and the concept of nature
Throughout
history, the concept of nature differed among philosophers, and it developed
from mythological and philosophical reflections and meanings to scientific, and
since the age of the Greek philosophers, the philosopher Plato saw that nature
is a great and complete ideal model, representing the divine spirit, and
governed by the laws of mathematics related to space and planets, while the
philosopher Aristotle said that each A thing is nature, and nature is that
everything has a form and a substance that consists of it, and that it moves or
behaves according to some basic purpose rooted in it, and regardless of the
accuracy or value of the philosophers ’views and their concept about nature,
and its diversity and difference from one philosopher to another, questions
about nature have evolved. Later, to intervene in the field of science and its
philosophy, and there became a physical and mechanical analysis of the world
and nature, just as the scientist Newton saw it, Or another scientific and
philosophical analysis, which scientist Einstein conceived through his
theories, and each of these created a special picture of the world and nature,
which means that there is no fixed concept of nature in philosophy.
